Terms of Service
Last updated: July 7, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lipo macOS application, website, account services, subscription services, downloads, updates, and related features (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, creating an account for, subscribing to, or using Lipo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Who may use Lipo
You must be at least 13 years old to use Lipo. If you use Lipo on behalf of a company, organization, or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity, and "you" includes that entity.
Your account
You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Keep your email address current, protect your device and account, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We may refuse, suspend, or disable accounts that violate these Terms, create security risk, or threaten service stability.
Subscriptions
Lipo is offered through paid subscription plans, including Pro Starter and Pro Plus. Prices, included features, language support, translation limits, screen-recording limits, and other plan details are shown on our website, in the app, or during checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the billing period shown at checkout unless you cancel through the billing portal before renewal. If you cancel, you keep paid access until the end of the current billing period unless we state otherwise or the law requires otherwise. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by us in writing. We may change prices or plan features with reasonable notice where required.
License
Subject to these Terms and your active entitlement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use Lipo for your personal or internal business use. We and our licensors retain all rights in the app, website, backend services, trademarks, designs, software, and related technology.
Your content
You retain your rights to the audio, text, screenshots, clipboard content, recordings, prompts, dictionary terms, and other content you provide to or create with Lipo ("User Content"). You grant us the limited rights needed to process User Content to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and support the Service, including sending it to service providers when needed for transcription, translation, cleanup, screen analysis, billing, account management, or support.
You are responsible for your User Content, for having any rights or permissions needed to process it, and for complying with laws that apply to recording, transcription, privacy, intellectual property, confidentiality, workplace monitoring, and consent. Do not use Lipo to record, transcribe, copy, or process content if you do not have the right to do so.
Privacy and data processing
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information. Lipo is designed so everyday histories are stored locally on your Mac by default, while cloud AI features process only the data needed to complete the request. We do not sell your dictation audio, transcripts, screenshots, clipboard contents, or generated prompts, and we do not use them to train Lipo-owned AI models.
AI features and outputs
Lipo uses speech-to-text, translation, text cleanup, screen analysis, and other AI systems from us and third-party providers. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, delayed, unavailable, or unsuitable for your intended use. You are responsible for reviewing output before sending, publishing, relying on, or acting on it, especially for professional, legal, medical, financial, employment, or safety-sensitive uses.
Lipo is a productivity tool, not a professional adviser, emergency service, medical device, legal service, or regulated decision-making system. Do not rely on it as your only source for time-critical, safety-critical, or legally required communications.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Lipo for illegal, harmful, deceptive, infringing, abusive, or privacy-invasive activity.
- Record, monitor, transcribe, or process people without required notice, consent, or legal basis.
- Upload malware, secrets you are not allowed to share, or content that violates another person's rights.
- Share accounts, create accounts to avoid limits, bypass payment, abuse trials or promotions, or resell access.
- Access backend, AI, transcription, translation, or provider services outside normal interactive use of the app.
- Automate, scrape, bulk-process, benchmark, overload, reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract source code, models, prompts, keys, or provider access.
- Interfere with service security, rate limits, usage controls, authentication, billing, or other users.
- Use Lipo to build or train a competing service in a way that violates these Terms or applicable law.
Fair use and limits
Some plans may advertise unlimited dictation or translation for normal human, interactive use. To keep the Service reliable and affordable, we may apply reasonable fair-use limits, per-session limits, rate limits, abuse controls, and technical safeguards. We may throttle, limit, block, or suspend usage that appears automated, excessive, abusive, fraudulent, or inconsistent with these Terms.
Plan limits, provider availability, language support, translation quotas, recording limits, and beta-feature availability may change over time. We try to avoid disruptive changes, but we may update routing, providers, models, limits, and features to improve quality, reliability, cost, compliance, or security.
Beta and experimental features
Features marked beta, preview, experimental, or similar may be less reliable, may change materially, may have additional limits, and may be removed. You should review their output carefully and avoid relying on them where an error would cause harm.
Third-party services
Lipo depends on third-party services for authentication, billing, hosting, storage, app updates, transcription, translation, cleanup, screen analysis, and other functions. We are not responsible for third-party outages, delays, policy changes, or errors, but we work to route and operate the Service responsibly.
Updates and availability
We may provide app updates, patches, or changes, and some features may require a current app version, active subscription, internet access, macOS permissions, or third-party service availability. We may suspend or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including to address security, provider, legal, cost, or operational issues.
Termination
You may stop using Lipo at any time and may cancel your subscription through the billing portal. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay, create legal or security risk, abuse the Service, or use the Service in a way that threatens reliability or provider access. After termination, provisions that by their nature should survive will continue, including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms.
Disclaimers
Lipo is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, security, and error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits; lost revenue; lost data; business interruption; reputational harm; or the cost of substitute services arising from or related to Lipo. Our total liability for all claims related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us for Lipo in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 USD if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so some limits may not apply to you.
Indemnity
If you use Lipo on behalf of a business or for commercial purposes, you agree to defend and indemnify us from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your User Content, your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice by posting the updated Terms, updating the "Last updated" date, and, where appropriate, notifying you by email or in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
General terms
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific checkout terms, are the entire agreement between you and us for the Service. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
