Home dashboard & history

The Home tab is Lipo's dashboard: how much you've dictated, how fast you speak compared to how fast you type, and a searchable history of everything you've dictated recently. It's the first thing you see when you open the app.

Your stats

The cards at the top track your dictation over time:

• Minutes Dictated Today and Words Dictated — today's activity, with comparisons to yesterday, last week, and last month underneath.
• Total Time Dictated and Total Dictated Words — your all-time numbers.
• Speaking rate — your words per minute while dictating, with your highest on record. Most people speak two to three times faster than they type, which is the whole point.
• Current Streak — how many days in a row you've dictated, and your highest streak.
• Your time is worth — an estimate of the hours dictation has saved you, based on how much faster you speak than you type.

Dictation History

Below the stats, Dictation History lists your recent dictations with the finished text. For each entry you can:

• Copy the text again — and if screenshots were attached, copy the text together with the images.
• Expand the raw transcript to compare what you literally said with what Lipo pasted.
• Delete the entry, which removes the text and any attached images from your Mac. This can't be undone.

Each entry also notes the mode and language it was dictated with. Long histories load in batches — click Load more to go further back.

How long history is kept

Dictation history stays on your Mac — Lipo doesn't keep your dictated text after processing it. Choose how long history remains saved in the settings above the list; older items are removed automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Are my dictations used to train AI models?

No. Your dictations are processed to produce your text and are never sold or used to train AI models. History exists only on your Mac. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Why is a dictation missing from history?

Most likely it aged out of your retention window, or it was deleted. Cancelled recordings (Escape or the × on the pill) never enter history because nothing was pasted.

Can I search old dictations?

History is a chronological list — scroll or Load more to go back through it within your retention window. For text you want to keep long-term, paste it somewhere permanent; history is a safety net, not an archive.
